It was the end of summer—time to get Dick Folger’s Misa, a 32-foot Gulf Pilothouse sailboat, back home to Alameda, Calif., after a two-month stay in the Delta.
Education Kept Us Afloat
When a 2-inch hole in the hull threatens to scuttle their vacation, these members credit their USPS education with keeping them safe until help arrives.
We’d been planning our Fourth of July cruise for five months. We’d preregistered and paid deposits to secure slips and rooms. We would spend three nights at Block Island, three nights in Newport, R.I., and one night in Port Jefferson, N.Y. Then after a trip around New York Harbor, we’d head back home to Massapequa.
