Roger F. Jensen

Roger Fredrick Jensen, 85, of Martin, Ohio, passed away on Friday, Sept. 30, 2022, from a brief illness at St. Charles Hospital in Oregon, Ohio. He was born on Jan. 24, 1937, in Allen Township, Ohio, to Dorothy (Myerholtz) and Carl Jensen. Roger was a graduate of Genoa High School and was a veteran of the United States Army where he served six years both in Germany and stateside. He worked for 31 years at the Sohio BP Refinery. Roger was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Williston and a member of Toledo Power Squadron for 64 years, where he was honored to be their commander in 1990 and supply officer for six years. He was also a member of PVFC, HCEA, American Legion Post 0537, NASG, NMRA Division 1 and OCHS.

Roger is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Barbara; son, Steven (Carol) Jensen; grandchildren, Jessica and Benjamin Jensen; brother, Galen (Pat) Jensen; sister, Karen Jensen; sisters-in-law, Becky Jensen, Pam Jensen, Carol Cornell; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, David Jensen; brothers, Richard and Ronald Jensen; brother-in-law, Gene Cornell; and his grandparents.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. John Lutheran Church in Williston, the Ottawa County Historical Society, or the donor’s choice. Condolences may be given online.
