Dale L. Overly, age 85, of Sylvania, Ohio, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2023, at ProMedica Flower Hospital surrounded by his loving family. A long-time member of the Toledo Sail and Power Squadron and the Maumee Valley Winnies RV group, Dale loved to sail, explore, and travel.
He was easy to spot with his height and the large sunhat he wore when traveling. He visited many cities including Amsterdam, Rome, Paris, and New York City. He visited the Arctic, the Galapagos Islands, Peru, and Russia, and celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary aboard an Alaskan cruise with his family.
Dale is survived by his wife of 64 wonderful years, Bernadine Overly; his sister, Marilyn Overly; and his three sons, Jim Overly of Cambridge, MA, Gene Overly (Beth) of Edmonds, WA, and Ron Overly (Pam) of Pickerington, OH. He leaves behind three grandchildren, Brooke Berger (Brandon), Keenan Van Horn (Kyla), and Nathan Overly. He also leaves behind his companion dog, Angie.
