P/Stf/C Rodney G. Landsman, AP, passed away 23 Feb. 2016. He was the beloved husband of nearly 61 years to Dr. Sandra G. Landsman, loving father of Victoria Peterson, Jonathan and Lisa Landsman, Faith Landsman and Teri Mehrman, and Jill Landsman. He was also the loving brother of Rubyjean and Richard Gould, cherished grandfather of Aaron and Sarah Landsman and Michael Peterson, and uncle, cousin and dear friend to many.

He served as National Jewish Chaplain, District 8 Chaplain, and past Palm Beach Sail & Power Squadron Chaplain.  As a Life Member of the United States Power Squadrons, he served on national, district and squadron committees. Rod served as past Chaplain as well as treasurer for District 8 and Palm Beach Sail & Power Squadron.

He was an avid world traveler and an internationally recognized artist. He studied at Cranbrook Institute of Arts, Chicago Institute of Arts and Wayne State University. Rod was a lifelong educator and orchid enthusiast. Those who had the privilege knew he was a gentle, kind, caring and thoughtful man.

At District 8’s Fall Conference last year, when he gave his invocation, “the words he chose to use had been carefully selected to say thank you for the friendships he had made realizing that this was probably the last opportunity he would have to be with us and was choosing his time to say goodnight to us all.”

Please keep Rod in your hearts, and comfort Sandy and their children as they heal, surrounded by precious memories.

Using his own words which were synonymous to Rod, “And let us all say together, Amen.”
